Landlords who are setting up or already managing an active tenancy on Rent Setu can enable Smart Rent Collection, subject to product availability and verification steps.
How does it work?
Tenants pay into a dedicated flow for the tenancy. When rent is received, you are notified and funds are sent to your account on the agreed schedule — with confirmation emails so your records stay tidy.
What if a tenant is late on rent?
We can notify you automatically and chase the tenant according to your plan. If payment stops entirely, we can point you to appropriate next steps or partners for escalation.
How are my bank details kept private?
When you set up Rent Collection from the start of a tenancy, tenants do not need your personal bank details to pay rent — payments are routed through the secure Rent Setu process.
Does Rent Collection impact the tenants' credit score?
Reporting to credit agencies is product- and jurisdiction-dependent. Over time, on-time rent reporting may help tenants; missed payments and debt recovery can affect credit. Details will be in your terms at enrolment.
